What is an Instagram “smart DM”?

It means your page answers messages without anyone at the phone: you set ready answers for words like “price” or “size”, and the same answer goes out on DMs, on comments under a post and on story replies. In DirectFa the conversation can also run several steps — a menu, choosing a product, collecting the address and phone number, receiving the payment receipt — and the AI assistant answers what no rule covers. All of it runs on Meta’s official API.

Are “automatic DM”, “auto DM” and “DM bot” different things?

No — they are names for the same job: answering Instagram DMs and comments automatically. The real difference between services lies elsewhere: whether they use Meta’s official API, or log into your page with your password and a browser script. The latter is what gets pages restricted and blocked; DirectFa uses only the official API and never asks for your password.

Can everyone who comments under a post get an automatic DM?

Yes. A rule on a post’s or reel’s comments can leave a public reply under the comment and, at the same time, send that commenter a DM — a price, a link or a product card. Under Meta’s rules that first message goes out as a “private reply” to the comment, and the conversation continues once the customer replies; DirectFa keeps to that rule on its own.

Will my page be restricted or blocked for using DirectFa?

DirectFa uses only Meta’s official API and respects the platform’s limits, including the 24-hour reply window. The tools that put pages at risk generally rely on browser scripts or unofficial connections; we do neither.

Do I have to hand over my Instagram password?

No. You connect through Instagram’s own login screen and we receive only a limited access token. You can revoke it from your Instagram settings whenever you like, and you do not need our permission to do so.

What is the 24-hour window?

Meta’s rules let you reply freely for 24 hours after the customer’s last message; after that, sending is restricted. DirectFa holds anything outside the window in a queue and sends it the moment the customer writes again. For urgent news such as a shipment, SMS takes the DM’s place, because it has no such limit.

What exactly counts against a plan’s limit?

One unit is used when a rule fires for one person, and that same rule does not count again for that same person for 24 hours. The messages inside a multi-step conversation — asking the size, collecting the address, receiving the receipt — are free. So a complete order is normally one unit, not ten.

What happens if I use up my monthly allowance?

Automatic replies pause until the next period starts, and the panel shows exactly how much is left — the delivery health section even estimates the day it will run out. You can upgrade from inside the panel at any moment.

How long does setup take?

Connecting a page usually takes under two minutes. For your first scenario you can install one of the ready-made packs for your line of business and edit it afterwards; building your own takes only a few minutes more.

Can I step into a conversation myself?

Yes. The inbox shows which messages the bot has answered and which are waiting for you, and you can join any conversation at any point. For an unhappy customer, the AI assistant hands the conversation straight to you.

How many Instagram pages can I connect?

It depends on your plan — each plan card on the pricing page states its connected-pages limit, and you can upgrade from inside the panel at any time. Every page keeps its own isolated world: rules, products, orders and bookings never mix between pages.

Where is my customers’ data stored?

On our own dedicated server in a European data centre. You can export the phone numbers and orders whenever you want, and the data deletion page explains how to have everything erased.

How much does an Instagram DM bot cost?

It depends on how many automated conversations you need each month and which features you want — plans start free, and every plan’s current price is always on the pricing page. Unlike most services we meter conversations, not messages: a complete order with all its back-and-forth normally costs one unit.

Is there a free DM bot plan?

Yes — DirectFa has a genuinely free period that needs no card to start: connect your page, build auto-reply rules and try it on your own page with a fixed allowance of automated conversations. After that you continue on a monthly plan; the free period’s length and every plan’s price are on the pricing page.

How are the AI and SMS allowances counted? What happens on renewal, and to purchased packs?

Every plan carries three allowances per subscription period — automated conversations, AI replies and SMS — and all three recharge in full when a new period starts (a purchase or a renewal); whatever was left unused does not carry over. Purchased SMS and AI packs are a separate, permanent credit wallet: they never expire, are untouched by renewal or even by your subscription lapsing, and are only drawn from once the period’s free allowance runs out.
